Guess what ! The year fives went to the Auckland museum. We explored the museum.

 I saw lots of cool things. But The coolest one was the Minecraft glasses. Because when I put it on it really looks like you're in it .

Tui

A Tui is an omnivore. It eats insects and New Zealand native plants like pohutukawa and kahikatea. rewarewa puriri and kowhai. Also flax and rata.

 Description: A Tui is blue, black , white, and a little bit of yellow. It has two legs, eyes and short beak. A little fluffy dot on it’s chest.

 habitat A Tui will live where is a balance of ground cover. shrubs and trees. Characteristics: A Tui is aggressive. So they are argy when there is other birds that take food sourcers.

“Someone? Yelled go Jonathan”. Our team played a eating competition. It was only waet bix and cream with an apply.

 We had to get into buddies One of us had to be at the back and be the arms for the person that was eating the wheat bix with cream on top. All of us only had a short a mont of time in each turn.

 My buddie was kosine we were things good the he left me and I had to use my mouth then I cathed. It was so funny when it was kosine turn I shave the wheat bix. Then we had a champion in the first roundit was Amethyst it was so funny. I was cracking up when some cream went into Josh’s nose.

Jonathan Holiday

In the holiday I went to Riverside camp, it is only for one week with all the Riversiders at school. It was a long bus ride to Willow park.

 We finally got to willow park. We had to go to the rima room to get into our teams, my team was called BWA that stands for brother’s with attitude.after we had free time we played on the trampoline and some of us played tennis. Then we had lunch it was nachos after our lunch we had more free time.Then we had a yummy scrumptious dinner.

 On Tuesday we woke up at 7am we had to do fitness. After fitness we had to read a booklet about God. Then we had breakfast. I had muesli. After that we played lots of wet games. Then we had morning tea it was cookies and water. Then we play with the willow park toys. Are the quad bikes , green machines , mini golf, and tennis.

 I love Riverside camp it is so fun. I would like to go back to camp.

Yesterday we made chicken flavoured worms, but not really! They were chicken flavoured noodle. First we

put worms into the bowl and sachet. Then we put the boiling water in the bowl. We were string the noodle to
make it cold.
 It was so yum I had to much. They looked like big worms dripping down the kid’s face. When 

I had my first taste it drip down my face. I had so much fun eating the worms.

Have you made butter before? Well this morning room 8 made butter it was just cream and a pinch of salt. It only 12 mins to shake .

We had to  shake the jar  2  or  4  times  to  make it  was only 12 mins . It went  thicker and thicker.  It look creamy and soft.

Yum! butter  we put  it  on  a piece of  bread.  it was so yummy.

I wish that we can make butter was   amazing.

Grass to Glass part 1

Cows eat 70 kilograms of grass a day,to make milk for us to drink.They just eat grass  all day.  When it’s winter the farmer cates the grass to make silage.

Cows have four stomachs, to help  them  digest the grass. Compared to us who have only one  stomach.They brutp the grass back up  and  crew  it  again.

Milking happens twice a day, early in the morning and late afternoon.In the herrmgbone milking shed.One cow can make 30 lites of milk.

Now days milking machines do all the hard work,but in the olden days they have to use their hands. It  was so broing to do.

Living On a Farm

Growing up on a farm out in the country would be really fun. We have been looking at dairy farms and the different roles on the farm.

 I think I would like to feed the calves because they are cute. It would be hard work on the farm. But it would be fun feeding the calves.

 My second thing I would love to do on a farm was drive a tractor because you can make some silage. Silage is for the cows to eat and that’s the cows best food on the farm. I would also grow some crops.

 Why wasn't I born in the country? After school there would be so many things to do like feeding calves, chickens and pigs, and riding bikes and horses. I think country kids are very lucky!

My Hoildays

Yes it is the holidays! In the holidays I went to the Glen Innes pools with my mates. We packed our stuff to go to the pools. We got changed in the changing rooms and we got into the pool.We made a game up. It was lots of fun.
 We played relays and whoever lost had to do freestyle around the pool. I lost by miles.Then we had lunch. We had fish and chips and fizzy drinks. We also some lollies .I started to play some rugby and I won this rugby game. It was so much fun and I did a bomb in the pool. My mates were very good at doing flips under water.
 I could not do it. It is so hard to do. I tried but I failed I was so close to doing it. Then we played some ball tiggy. It was funny and fun. I tried to do chest ups 30 times . Then it was DJ’s turn we were laughing at her when she did it. We got some goggles from the life guard and we had a breathing challenge and I came last. After that we got out of the pool and got changed. On the way home we played tag.

 I had lots of fun at the pools. I hope I can go to the pools again.

“Have you played basketball before!” Well our math class have. Well Room 8 math class have been learning to play basketball.

 We have been learning to jump stop, shooting and defending. Our coach is Vinnie and Shanice. We played a game called golden child. There is a shooting team and a running team. The running team has to run around the hall. The shooting team has to shoot the ball into hoop and if they get it in the they yell “STOP”.

 I like to play golden child again I had a lot of fun.

This is for the people that never been to Auckland. Winter started on June the 1st on the Queen’s birthday. When I woke up I saw condensation on the widow. I felt cold like ice and the grass was so frosty like icy snow. I was so cold like the grass that I got a bad cough. I thought that I was so sick like a clod . When I got to sleep it was icy cold I like frost air.

Blindfold Game

“Have you played the blindfold game before”!This morning our literacy class played it . Miss Lavakula put pieces of paper on the floor. Miss Williamson put down bowls of rice with golden safety pins in it . You have to sit in front of the bowls of rice and safety pins . Miss Lavakula put on the google timer for one minute. You put a blindfold on and pick up as many safety pins as you can. Then it was me , Alex , Andrew , Tavake, and Montel. I thought it was so embarrassing because people laugh at us when we got zero. Then it was Adrian, Koinsi, sheena , Aysha, and Jennifer Miss lavakula started the google timer they raced to get as many as they can. This is there Points Adrian got 4 , Koinsi got 4, sheena got 3 ,Aysha got 3 , and Jennifer got 6 .There `all were embarrassed. .
